چکیده

The quantum Euclidean spheres, S q , are (noncommutative) homogeneous spaces of quantum orthogonal groups, SOq(N). The ∗-algebra A(S q ) of polynomial functions on each of these is given by generators and relations which can be expressed in terms of a self-adjoint, unipotent matrix. We explicitly construct complete sets of generators for the K-theory (by nontrivial self-adjoint idempotents and unitaries) and the K-homology (by nontrivial Fredholm modules) of the spheres S q . We also construct the corresponding Chern characters in cyclic homology and cohomology and compute the pairing of K-theory with K-homology. On odd spheres (i. e., forN even) we exhibit unbounded Fredholm modules by means of a natural unbounded operator D which, while failing to have compact resolvent, has bounded commutators with all elements in the algebra A(S q ). 2000 Mathematics Subject Classi£cation: 19D55; Secondary 20G42, 58B34.

Twisted Cyclic Cohomology and Modular Fredholm Modules

Connes and Cuntz showed in [Comm. Math. Phys. 114 (1988), 515–526] that suitable cyclic cocycles can be represented as Chern characters of finitely summable semifinite Fredholm modules. We show an analogous result in twisted cyclic cohomology using Chern characters of modular Fredholm modules. We present examples of modular Fredholm modules arising from Podleś spheres and from SUq(2).

Twisted Configurations over Quantum Euclidean Spheres

We show that the relations which define the algebras of the quantum Euclidean planes Rq can be expressed in terms of projections provided that the unique central element, the radial distance from the origin, is fixed. The resulting reduced algebras without center are the quantum Euclidean spheres SN−1 q . The projections e = e 2 = e are elements in Mat 2n(S N−1 q ), with N = 2n+1 or N = 2n, and...

Bounded and Unbounded Fredholm Modules for Quantum Projective Spaces

We construct explicit generators of the K-theory and K-homology for the coordinate algebra of ‘functions’ on the quantum projective spaces. We also sketch a construction of unbounded Fredholm modules, that is to say Dirac-like operators and spectral triples of any positive real dimension.

Noncommutative Spheres and Instantons

We report on some recent work on deformation of spaces, notably deformation of spheres, describing two classes of examples. The first class of examples consists of noncommutative manifolds associated with the so called θ-deformations which were introduced in [17] out of a simple analysis in terms of cycles in the (b,B)-complex of cyclic homology. These examples have non-trivial global features ...

Hermitian metric on quantum spheres

The paper deal with non-commutative geometry. The notion of quantumspheres was introduced by podles. Here we define the quantum hermitianmetric on the quantum spaces and find it for the quantum spheres.
